Equipment Needed:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup milk (use your preferred type)

  • 1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or sweetener of choice

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make Homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer

In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the heavy cream and milk, stirring until it's just warm (don't let it boil).

  • If you don’t have heavy cream readily available, you can use half & half instead.

  • I like to use a small 1-quart saucepan.

Add the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice, mixing until fully incorporated.

  • Gently whisk in the pumpkin and spices, making sure they are fully incorporated.

  • 100% canned pumpkin can be used in place of pumpkin puree.

Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract to your desired sweetness.

  • I tend to grab the first maple syrup I see at my local grocer. If you have any maple syrup brand suggestions, please let me know what they are in the comments of this post.

  • Mexican vanilla is always my go to for baking and beverage recipes.

Simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • We’re not trying to scorch the milk, so keep this to a light simmer, not a rolling boil.

  • Adjust your temperature accordingly.

Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  • Give the creamer about 5 -10 minutes off the heat before transferring.

Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any pumpkin or spice bits.

  • Full transparency, I don’t always strain my creamer because I like a little texture in my coffee.

Transfer the pumpkin spice creamer to a clean carafe bottle or jar.

Store in the fridge and shake before each use.

Now you have a fantastic pumpkin spice creamer to enjoy in your coffee or even to drizzle over desserts. Feel free to experiment with the ingredient ratios to match your taste preferences. And don't forget to capture those mouthwatering shots for your food photography collection! 📸🎃
